When you compare the Chinese students’ way of living to the German students’ one there are differences as well as similarities.
We first found out one thing that we all have in common. We live with our parents and siblings but in Qingdao most families live in apartment buildings and in our region in houses.
German families usually have a garden which is not possible for as many people in Qingdao because it is 200 times bigger with its 6 million inhabitants and much more densely populated. Than Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.
Another thing that we have in common is that each of us has their own room and that we often have pets like cats and dogs.
Some of our families in Germany have someone who helps them to clean the house or do the laundry whereas in the Chinese families the mother often does everything herself and the children help in the holidays when they have enough time because they have to study most of the time during the regular weekends.
To put it in a nutshell, all families in our group share a lot of similarities even if most people would not think so first.
